Ben Close scored a screamer for the second time in less than a week as Portsmouth picked up their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Tranmere.
Close blasted a stunning volley into the top corner from 30 yards after 27 minutes. The midfielder had netted an almost identical goal in Pompey's midweek EFL Cup win at home to Birmingham.
Tom Naylor sealed the points for Pompey 15 minutes from time with a close-range effort after Paul Downing had seen his header cleared off the line.
The win would have been more emphatic but for Andy Cannon's shot being kept out by a post and birthday boy Lee Brown having a goal chalked off for offside.
Tranmere goalkeeper Scott Davies also produced a decent save to deny Ronan Curtis after only eight minutes.
Rovers' best chance came through Manny Monthe, who headed wide when unmarked at a corner, while Kieron Morris also forced a save from Craig MacGillivray in the home goal.
