Portsmouth v Man City preview

Man City and Portsmouth will be doing battle against the form book when they face each other.

Johnson back for clash between win-hungry duo

Both Man City and Portsmouth will be doing battle against the form book when they square off against each other on Saturday. Pompey are rock bottom in form terms - they're on the longest current losing streak in the league. City, meanwhile, have won just once away from home all season and have picked up just one win in their last six league efforts. To make matters worse for City fans making the long trip down to the South Coast in the hope of witnessing a repeat of the 6-0 win at Eastlands, all three of City's top scorers are either out or doubtful. Stephen Ireland is banned, Shaun Wright-Phillips has a hamstring strain and record signing Robinho could also miss out with a thigh injury.

Johnson returns

There is further good news for Tony Adams with defender Glen Johnson finally back in the side after missing the last six matches with an ankle injury. But with Papa Bouba Diop out for up to three months (knee), and Richard Hughes (hamstring) and Jerome Thomas (back) still out of the reckoning, it could be a tough task to contain the goal-happy City attack. Meanwhile, City's newest recruit Wayne Bridge will be braced for a potentially hostile reception on his debut at Fratton Park having previously played for bitter rivals Southampton.
