Port Vale 1-1 Gillingham: Point apiece for Vale and Gills
Saturday 15 August 2015 22:35, UK
Port Vale and Gillingham both remain unbeaten this season after battling out a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Vale Park.
Gillingham took a 16th-minute after Vale goalkeeper Jak Alnwick was penalised for picking up the ball from Richard Duffy's back-pass.
Luke Norris touched the free-kick to Bradley Dack on the left corner of the six-yard area and the midfielder lashed an unstoppable right-foot shot into the roof of the net.
Vale came back strongly with Gills defenders Deji Oshilaja, Ryan Jackson and Bradley Garmston all booked for desperate challenges in a five-minute spell.
And increasing pressure was rewarded in the 34th minute when Byron Moore chested the ball into the path of Louis Dodds who drove a low, right-foot shot from 18 yards just inside Stuart Nelson's right-hand post.
