Port Vale 1-0 Crawley: Luke Hannant hits winner
Saturday 18 August 2018 19:00, UK
Luke Hannant's first-half strike secured Port Vale their second Sky Bet League Two win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Crawley.
Tom Pope, who returned to the Valiants' side after recovering from injury, had his shot parried away by Glenn Morris in the 20th minute, with Hannant in the right place to slot in the rebound for his second English Football League goal.
Pope then headed over the crossbar from Dave Worrall's cross on the half-hour mark.
Crawley's Lewis Young had a chance to level 10 minutes before the break but his low drive grazed the outside of the post.
Harry Kewell's visiting side tried to look busier in the second half but it ultimately led to nothing.
