Kasper Schmeichel was ‘not getting carried away’ after Leicester moved out of the relegation zone in the Premier League following a 1-0 victory away at Burnley.

The Foxes have now won four matches in a row to move from 20th to 17th in the table but needed a touch of good fortune to claim three points on Saturday.

Less than a minute after Matt Taylor’s penalty had struck a Leicester post, the visitors to Turf Moor went up the other end of the pitch to score the only goal of the contest through Jamie Vardy.

And Schmeichel was keeping his feet firmly on the ground after his side made it 12 points out of 12.

"There's a long way to go still. We're not getting carried away," he told Sky Sports.

More from Burnley V Leicester

"We've given ourselves a great chance but we've got some very tough games to go still, so we’re confident but we’re by no means safe at all.

“Any team in the Premier League winning four games in a row is a great achievement. We’re proud of that but that’s gone now.

“We’ve got massive games ahead of us still. There’s still a lot of football to be played. I know it’s a cliche but that is the case, it is one game at a time.”

And team-mate Marc Albrighton was also delighted with the latest win, adding: “We feel like we’ve played well for most of the season.

“It’s alright saying you haven’t had the rub of the green but we’ve been unlucky at times and now I think we are keeping the performances there but we are turning the results into victories.

“We’ve always had belief. We’ve always kept that in the group. I’m not going say it didn’t look daunting but now let’s just say it’s looking better for us.”
