Garry Monk expects reaction from Swansea players against Newcastle

Garry Monk is convinced his side will fire on all cylinders at Newcastle on Saturday following last weekend’s defeat to Leicester.
Leicester climbed off bottom spot in the Premier League with a 2-0 win at the Liberty Stadium courtesy of goals from Leonardo Ulloa and Andy King.
The result meant Swansea remain on 47 points – their joint-highest Premier League points tally – but Monk is confident his side will respond the right way at St James’ Park this weekend.

“Of course we were disappointed last week with our performance,” Monk said.
“We didn’t reach the standard that we’ve set for the majority of the season so we were disappointed, but from the experience I have had at this club, every time we’ve had a setback we’ve come back strong.
“That’s what we’ve talked about this week. That’s how training has been and the focus has been and hopefully this weekend you will see a good reaction and that hunger.
“But I think we were asked that question three or four weeks ago and I think we answered that very strongly with the performances and the results that we got. The setback we had last week is another chance for us to answer that question. Hopefully we will show that in the game.”
