Manchester United face an anxious wait to discover the extent of Robin van Persie’s injury after the Netherlands striker hobbled away from Swansea on crutches.
The 31-year-old left the Liberty Stadium sporting a protective boot around his right ankle after he was injured in the final stages of United's 2-1 defeat to the Swans on Saturday.
Van Persie, who has scored 10 goals this season, could not be replaced as United had already made three substitutions.
Manager Louis van Gaal said: "We dominated the game even with 10 men when Van Persie could not run anymore."
United’s next league game is against Sunderland on February 28, while van Gaal will be keen to have his compatriot available for the FA Cup match against his former club Arsenal on March 9.
