Premier League: Leicester boss Nigel Pearson calls for video technology after penalty controversy
Thursday 1 January 2015 19:48, UK
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson called for video technology to help officials after his side's 2-2 draw against Liverpool.
The Foxes rallied from two goals down to earn a deserved point at Anfield but Pearson felt two first-half penalties - both scored by Steven Gerrard - were dubiously awarded for apparent handballs by Wes Morgan and Danny Simpson.
“I would like, moving forward, for the officials to have the benefit of technology," Pearson said.
"I keep being asked about whether it would be good for the game and I think it would. It would clear up any indecision and wouldn’t create any difficulties within the ground.
"I think it would be beneficial for the game if the officials had every tool available to them to help get their decisions right for the sake of the game."

David Nugent and Jeffrey Schlupp got the goals that kept Leicester within four points of safety and Pearson felt his side might have claimed all three points after a spirited second-half display.
Pulsating
“It was a pulsating game," he added.
"We tried to win it, we nearly did and you can argue that we should’ve done. I’m proud of how the players dealt with the disappointment of the first half and I think you know what I’m talking about.
"I suppose what we have to do is look at the game in its entirety and think about how much pressure we put them under.
“They’re a good side and they will occasionally open you up but I thought we were exceptionally good throughout the game today.
“It’s nice to back up what was a really good away victory at Hull, where maybe we were hanging on until the end. Today we played some good football, in fact some exceptional football and we deserved at least a point at the end.”
