Premier League: Burnley boss Sean Dyche applauds departing Newcastle manager Alan Pardew's record

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has hailed the record of Alan Pardew ahead of his side's New Year's Day trip to Newcastle.
Pardew's apparently imminent departure to Crystal Palace means Dyche will come up against caretaker-boss John Carver in the opposite dugout at St James's Park.
And although many home fans seem happy to see the back of Pardew, Dyche believes the job he did in his four years in charge of the club should not be underestimated.
Dyche said: "He (Pardew) had a tough start with big question marks early in the season but he handled it very well.
"He seemed calm and considered with his views at the time and he came through it with a fantastic run of results. He has had ups and downs like all managers, but I think overall he will be deemed to have done a very good job."

Burnley's own prospects of starting 2015 in style look significantly brighter after an improved run of results culminated in their fight back from two goals down to grab a point at Manchester City on Sunday.
And Dyche is convinced the quality of his side's performance - as well as the point - will give them great motivation to step up their fight for top-flight survival.
"The benefit is really for the team and the belief in how we operate. If you operate like that in the home of the champions, it is a good sign of what we are trying to achieve," added Dyche.
"We haven't got massive depth of experience at this level so it is a case of learning as we go, and now we've won some games and put some points on the board and we've got a thirst for more."
Dyche has been bolstered by the recent form of striker Ashley Barnes, who netted the late equaliser at City to take his recent tally to three goals in his last four games, and the return of Sam Vokes, who was rested for the Etihad Stadium clash.
