Premier League: Nigel Pearson wants Leicester City to rediscover top form
Thursday 30 October 2014 14:47, UK
Nigel Pearson has called on his Leicester City players to forget about their recent results and return to the performance levels they set when beating Manchester United.
The Foxes go to Swansea on Saturday after collecting just one point from their last three games to put the brakes on an impressive start that included a famous 5-3 victory over the Red Devils.
“We’ve got to make sure that going there we don’t spend too much time considering what’s happened in the last few games,” Pearson said.
“It’s a case of we have to deal with Swansea as a team and their key players as well.
“For us, we’ve got to make sure that our level of performance gives us the best chance of winning the game.

“We know we’re going to have to be near or at our best to do that.”
Leicester lost 1-0 at Newcastle last week after a tight encounter which followed on from a 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace and a 2-2 draw with Burnley.
Pearson knows his men must punish teams at every given opportunity if they are going to pick up more Premier League points.
“Last Saturday we weren’t ruthless enough in both boxes and that really is the top and bottom of it,” Pearson added.
"As you find in this division, you have to be in games to give yourselves a chance of winning.
"One of the frustrating things is we were probably in our best spell of the game, in the ascendancy when they (Newcastle) scored the goal.
"That is something that is all part of the learning curve.
"You have to learn quickly in this division. You will probably find over the course of the season you tend to get punished for small mistakes.
“We talk about that a lot and work at it a lot. Also, when we got into the final third sometimes our quality let us down a bit. That is something we have to continue to work at. Ultimately, players make decisions in match situations.
"They are a fantastic group to work with as people, let alone as players.
"Providing we get the right application I am confident we can continue to improve and we will be competitive."
