Bolton’s prospective new owner Laurence Bassini says he will meet with EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey on Tuesday to show proof of funds ahead of his potential takeover.

Current owner, Ken Anderson, gave Bassini until 5pm on Monday to deal with "outstanding issues", however the former Watford chairman says he will provide the necessary evidence required by the EFL in order to complete the deal which would see him take over Bolton.

Bassini told Sky Sports News: "I will be meeting Shaun Harvey at the League's offices in London, where I will show proof of funds and start the process of getting this club on the right track again."

Bolton are aiming to play their fixture against Brentford on Wednesday evening, Sky Sports News understands.

Last Saturday's game against Brentford was called off due to the Bolton players going on strike over unpaid wages.

The club is working with the EFL to try to rearrange Saturday's fixture for this week after the Football League told Bolton they expect them to fulfil their remaining fixtures even if that meant playing youth players.
