Former Malmo boss Age Hareide has been named the new coach of the Denmark national team.

The 62-year-old, who was in charge of Norway between 2003-2008, has signed a two-year contract.

Hareide, capped 50 times by Norway in a 10-year spell from 1976, replaces Morten Olsen, who ended his 15-year tenure last month after Denmark failed to qualify for the finals of Euro 2016.

Last week he announced his departure from Malmo - shortly before their 8-0 Champions League drubbing at the hands of Real Madrid - after almost two years in charge at the Swedbank Stadion.
