Football Association chief executive Martin Glenn insists England manager Roy Hodgson still has his full support.
Hodgson's team selection has been called into question at Euro 2016 after the Three Lions finished second in Group B behind Wales.
The 68-year-old made six changes to his starting line-up for England's 0-0 draw with Slovakia - a result which cost the Hodgson's side a spot in the more favourable side of the draw in France.
Officials at the FA were rumoured to be unhappy with Hodgson's decision to rest key players but Glenn insists this is not the case and that the England boss still has the organisation's full backing.
"Roy has my total support," said Glenn at England's Chantilly training base in France. "I'm here to help make sure Roy has everything he needs to prepare. We have fantastic facilities here as you see.
"Preparation up until the Euros I think has been faultless so I actually don't know where these stories are coming from. They don't come from me, they don't come from the chairman.
"So I think its speculation in those idle hours between games. He has our full support, he has been a great manager and I think we are going to do some great things in this tournament."
England have struggled to break down teams at the tournament so far and are likely to face another stubborn defence in Iceland on Monday evening.
However, Glenn says he has been impressed with England's style of play at the tournament and remains optimistic ahead of the crucial game in Nice.
"I'm really pleased," said Glenn. "I think we have played really well. We'd like to have scored more goals but I can't remember and England team playing this well and this fluently for quite a few tournaments.
"So I think all the progress that we saw in qualification I'm still seeing so far so I'm very optimistic.
"We just want to see progress. That is what we've said all along. This is a building team, we should turn up to every tournament being prepared to win it so I don't see a tournament as just a stepping stone but it's a developing squad, it's the youngest squad we've had in a generation.
"I think we will continue to see improvement. We need to show progress and then we'll take a view from there."
