Alberto Aquilani claims no further discussions have been held with Fiorentina regarding his expiring contract.
The issue has been addressed on one previous occasion with club officials, but talks have been shelved since then.
Aquilani would like to sit down and thrash out fresh terms, as he is due to drop into the free agent pool next summer.
He is also aware of the need to be patient, with Fiorentina having other matters to attend to.
Former Liverpool midfielder Aqualini says he has made the Serie A club aware of what he is after and will now leave it in their hands to make a call on his future.
The 30-year-old said: “There has already been too much talk about my contract.
“As far as I am concerned, I am fully available to discuss it. For the moment we’ve only had one meeting, as the club had other issues to deal with.
“The situation is clear, they know what I want.”
