Josh Windass has hit back at Scott Brown for comments he made after Celtic's 5-1 triumph over Rangers in the Old Firm derby last Saturday.
Brown claimed it was simply "men against boys", as Moussa Dembele scored a hat-trick to help Celtic secure their position at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
But Windass, who joined Rangers from Accrington Stanley in the summer, believes his side can settle the score when Celtic make the trip to Ibrox on December 31.
On hearing Brown's comments, Windass said: "Is that what he said? He can say what he wants. I can't really speak for Scott Brown .
"He played reasonably well on the day and fair play they beat us. But just wait until the next time.
"I heard Kenny Miller say that Rangers were seven points behind one year with five or six games to go and still won the league.
"We are only five games in so to say we are out of the title race at this stage is a ridiculous statement."
Rangers boss Mark Warburton says he expects his side to bounce back from their derby humiliation when they face Ross County on Saturday.
