Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers praises his players following the 2-0 win at Ibrox

Brendan Rodgers hailed Celtic's second-half display as they eased to a 2-0 victory at Ibrox to extend their unbeaten domestic run to 57 games.

Goals from Tom Rogic and Leigh Griffiths settled the issue but Rodgers conceded that his charges had not been at their sharpest in attack in the opening period.

The manager said: "It was a very good performance. The quality came through in the end. We lacked the final ball in the opening period. They had two chances on the counter-attack. In the second half, we were able to take control of the game.

"The players showed courage to pass the ball in an incredible atmosphere.

"When we did manage to do that, we were able to open Rangers up. It's part of our game that has really developed and that is very pleasing."

Griffiths scored his sixth goal of the season on his 100th league appearance for the champions and was quick to acknowledge the assist of Patrick Roberts.

He said: "We were the better team in the first half and the manager told us just to keep going because we thought they would tire. We did that and, at the end, they were dead on their feet.
