Huddersfield have signed Middlesbrough left-back James Husband on loan until February 6.

The 22-year-old trained with the Town squad for the first time on Thursday and could make his debut in Saturday's FA Cup third-round game at home to Reading.

Husband joined Middlesbrough from Doncaster in July 2014 but has made just three Championship appearances for the club.

He was loaned out to Fulham for a month at the end of last season and made 12 appearances for the Cottagers earlier this term after returning to the London club on loan.

Huddersfield boss David Wagner told his club's official website: "Now that Ben Chilwell has returned to Leicester City, one of our targets in this winter window was to bring in another left-back with Jason Davidson the only specialist in our squad.

"James is a player that the club has watched over a long period of time and it is good that we could act so quickly when he was available. I must say thank you to Aitor Karanka and Middlesbrough for the speed of our negotiations too.

"From what I've seen from him during his loan period at Fulham, he has attributes that will work in our style. I look forward to working with James on the training pitch and helping him to understand our ideas."
