Premier League: Burnley saviour Ross Wallace salutes team spirit shown at Leicester

Ross Wallace praised Burnley's team spirit after his stoppage time free-kick helped them seal a dramatic 2-2 draw at Leicester.

The substitute curled in a 20-yard free kick deep in stoppage time as the Clarets lifted themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table.

We're down to the bare bones with a few injuries to players, but the boys stepped in and put in a magnificent job for the team.

In a clash of newly-promoted sides, Jeff Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez had twice put the hosts ahead, only for the visitors to hit back as Michael Kightly ended Burnley's goal drought when he cancelled out Schlupp's opener in the first half.

It was left to Scot Wallace to grab a share of the spoils at the King Power Stadium and after the game he hailed the determination.

"It was a super point for us," the Scot told Sky Sports. "We're down to the bare bones with a few injuries to players as well, but the boys stepped in and put in a magnificent job for the team.

"I like to take free-kicks. I practice them and nine times out of 10 they go over the bar but luckily for me this one flew in the net and I'm buzzing.

"There's been a real belief from the start of the season. We don't listen to stuff going on outside the team because people are going to write us off, especially after a bad performance against West Brom.

"The boys were really down after that, but we showed some spirit today, battered it off and dug in."
