Crystal Palace have confirmed Pape Souare is expected to be discharged from hospital on Friday after undergoing surgery following a car crash.
Souare was involved in a two-way crash in his Mercedes on the M4 near Heathrow Airport on Sunday and was airlifted to hospital in London.
Alan Pardew revealed on Monday that Souare could have suffered a broken leg in the accident but Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed the 26-year-old Senegal international has now had his thigh and jaw operated on and the player is expected to make a full recovery.
"Thanks to the fantastic response of the emergency services who cut him from the car and the amazing surgeons, doctors and staff at the Royal London Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery and should be discharged on Friday," Parish said in a club statement on Palace's official website.
"We would like to make special mention of the London Air Ambulance service who flew Pape directly from the scene to the hospital ensuring that he rapidly had access to the very best medical care.
"The club note that this organisation is a charity and completely funded from donations as such we are making a contribution and would urge everyone to support this invaluable service for the people of London."
Souare joined the Eagles from French club Lille in January 2015 and has made a total of 55 first-team appearances.
