Junior Hoilett signs three-year deal at Cardiff

Cardiff City's Junior Hoilett celebrates scoring his side's second goal of the game during the Sky Bet Championship match at Carrow Road

Cardiff forward Junior Hoilett has signed a new three-year deal with the Premier League club.

Hoilett, who has scored 13 goals in 83 appearances since arriving from QPR in 2016, had been out of contract after helping Cardiff win promotion from the Sky Bet Championship last season.

But the Bluebirds have agreed a new deal with the 28-year-old Canada international, who scored 11 goals in 50 league and cup games last season.

"It feels amazing to finally sign the new deal," Hoilett told the club website.

"It was always going to happen though. I want to continue my career here and never wanted to go anywhere else.

"I want to go on and achieve more things in the Premier League with a great group of lads.

Cardiff manager Neil Warnock said: "Junior had a fantastic season for us last year and I think his new contract is just rewards for that.

"I think he's looking forward to the challenge next season and I'm sure he'll play a major role in helping us try to stay in the Premier League."
