Mauricio Pochettino 'understands' Barcelona interest but is 'happy' at Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino says he understands why Barcelona would be interested in him as a successor to Luis Enrique, but insists he is "happy" as Tottenham boss.

Pochettino is on a list of names at the Nou Camp, with the Argentine known to have a number of admirers on the Barca board, according to Guillem Balague.

Pochettino insists he is not flattered by his name being discussed in Catalonia, considering it to be normal because Spurs are one of the biggest clubs in Europe playing exciting and successful football.

"I saw (my name) because it's a big list; 100 names," he said. "It's like if I was gone I saw a list of 50 names to replace me.

"Like always, I told you, (football) it's the business I know very well. I was born with a ball in my arms and I understand very well the business. I don't take it like a flattering or a prize.

"We are in one of the biggest clubs in Europe. For me Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs. We are in a position where you can see we play very good football, exciting team, very good players.

"It's normal we catch the attention of other clubs and football people. We are part of that business and our names always appear on the lists.

"I don't want to speak because if you speak too much it is possible people can twist my words. I am happy here. I understand the business. It's normal in football today."

Pochettino's Spurs host Everton live on Super Sunday on Sky Sports 1HD and he was asked whether his opposite number Ronald Koeman, who had a successful spell at Barca as a player, would be right for the job.

"It's not my decision," he said. "My opinion is not important. We will meet Ronald on Sunday. We keep a very good relationship. He's a great manager and a very successful player at Barcelona.

"He is in Everton like I am in Tottenham, and we are very focused on the best strategy to win and get three points on Sunday."
