Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says winning the Club World Cup for the first time gives him an "absolutely sensational" feeling.
The German - who once lost seven finals in a row - has won the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup in the past year.
He said: "In this moment we have to look at a wonderful night for us, for the club, for everybody who is with us.
"We play again in five days so it's a tough period, but the boys game after game really show their desire to make the next step, show their desire to win the next game, show their desire to win the next challenge and I am really happy with that.
"For tonight, we couldn't do more than winning this game, winning for the first time for this wonderful club the Club World Cup.
"Before the game I said I don't know exactly how it would feel [to win the cup] but now I can say it's outstanding. Absolutely sensational.
"I am so proud of the boys and couldn't be better."
Liverpool became just the second English side to win the FIFA Club World Cup, the first since Manchester United in 2008, meaning European sides have now won 12 of the past 13 Club World Cup tournaments, including each of the last seven.
Klopp, who guided Liverpool to the honour at the fourth time of asking, added: "We are all kind of exhausted from a very intense game.
"It was an incredible performance, an incredibly difficult game against a good opponent. We did so many good things it's unbelievable, so many good football moments.
"I saw so many sensationally good performances and I'm really happy. The atmosphere in the stadium was great.
"I think we deserved the win tonight, we were the better side."
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson lifted his third trophy in six months following the conclusion of the final, and he believes the triumph can only make them strive for more success.
He said: "The summer was really important for us as a team, it was a special moment [winning the Champions League against Tottenham] and we went through a lot to be here in this competition.
"It's another big trophy for us, big moment for us as a team and we just want to use it to stay hungry, keep going, keep improving, keep learning and hopefully there's still a long way for this team to go.
"We're delighted. We did what we came to do, win the trophy. We knew it would be tough with two tough games against some good opponents.
"It was a great experience, one that we thoroughly enjoyed. Now we can enjoy tonight, of course, but we've got a game pretty soon so recovery is pretty important tomorrow - get the mentality straight back onto the Leicester game because it's a big game for us."
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher...
"A lot has been made of Liverpool going there and the teams. But I think Jurgen Klopp made exactly the right decision. This was a big trophy for Liverpool this season because Liverpool had never won it.
"Liverpool are a very successful club through history so it's very rare you get to create history and that's what this team have done by becoming world champions."
Liverpool are back in Premier League action on Thursday, with a Boxing Day clash against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
