Jurgen Klopp says Steven Gerrard is "always welcome" at Liverpool after some believed the midfielder had earlier hinted at an LA Galaxy exit.
Gerrard's contract with the five-time MLS Cup winners expires at the end of the season in the US, with Galaxy playing their final regular game of the campaign on Sunday having already booked a play-off spot.
Some took a post on the 36-year-old's official Instagram account as a goodbye message on Saturday when he was actually addressing the Galaxy supporters ahead of the club's planned fan appreciation night on Sunday, with some of his team-mates also making statements.
"Living in Los Angeles and playing for the great Galaxy supporters has been a privilege," Gerrard's message read. "You have made this place feel like home to me. This city and this club will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you #8."
Later in the day Klopp was asked about that following Liverpool's 2-1 Premier League win over West Brom at Anfield and he suggested there will always be a place for Gerrard in some capacity at the club.
"Steven Gerrard is always so welcome at Liverpool FC," Klopp said.
"You cannot imagine how welcome. So, absolutely no problem. But everything that we have already or will speak to each other stays in this talk.
"That is how I know Stevie and that is how I am. But nobody should worry that we have no space for Steven Gerrard. No - everything will be fine, 100 per cent."
Former England captain Gerrard made the move to California in 2015 having played 710 times for Liverpool and skippered them to Champions League glory in 2005.
He recently returned to Liverpool to continue his rehabilitation on a hamstring problem.
