Roy Hodgson, Brendan Rodgers, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have been nominated for Premier League manager of the month award for August.

Crystal Palace boss Hodgson and Leicester City's Rodgers have both led their sides to third and fourth respectively behind Guardiola's Manchester City and Klopp's Liverpool, who are top.

Hodgson guided Palace to a surprise victory over Manchester United, followed up by a 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday, after only one point from their opening two league games.

Former Liverpool boss Rodgers, who joined Leicester City from Celtic in February is also in the running with his side unbeaten heading into the international break.

The Foxes picked up a point away at Chelsea on August 18, while they comfortably saw off Bournemouth at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Two-time Premier League winner Guardiola is on course for an eighth award, with the reigning champions unbeaten after four games, including a 5-0 thrashing of West Ham on the opening day.

However, City remain in second place after they had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur on August 17.
