Manchester United and Manchester City will "definitely" battle it out for the Premier League title this season, says Steve Lomas.
The former City player has been impressed by his former side's unbeaten start to the season and thinks the "abundance of attacking quality" at Pep Guardiola's disposal will help them in their bid for the title.
"I think they are the two (Man City and Man United), you look at the squad depth it's fantastic," Lomas told Sky Sports News.
"Obviously Sergio Aguero with his injury in the taxi hasn't helped, but you look at the quality of player that can come in, Sane and Sterling, it's just an abundance of attacking quality.
"I think this year they've got the right system between defence and attack, they're looking a lot more solid. But yeah, I think it's definitely between the two Manchester clubs."
Kevin De Bruyne has been instrumental in City's last two games, securing two wins with crucial goals in their fixtures against Shakthar Donetsk and Chelsea.
When asked about De Bruyne's impact this season, Lomas was full of praise for the midfielder: "[He's been] fantastic, the likes of him and (David) Silva they are just quality players."
"You look at the Belgium squad as a whole and you'd like to think they'll be a threat at this World Cup with the quality that they've got. But yes certainly, he (De Bruyne) is on top form."
