Robins midfielder aiming to impress Glover

Port Vale have given a trial to out-of-favour Cheltenham Town midfielder Scott Brown. The 23-year-old is on the transfer list at Whaddon Road and has been discussing a financial settlement to his contract. He has made just one appearance for the Robins this season and has now been offered the chance to earn a loan move to Vale Park. Brown will feature for the reserves against Nottingham Forest and Vale boss Dean Glover is keen to assess the former Bristol City youngster. "I saw Scott play last week and he has a good reputation," Glover told the Sentinel. "Things have changed for him at Cheltenham and he probably has to look elsewhere for football and I'm giving Scott the chance to play and train with us this week. "He's a good footballer who is good on the ball, has an eye for a pass and has experience as well."
