Hull 1-1 Nottingham Forest: Hull slip to fourth after draw
Wednesday 16 March 2016 07:31, UK
Hull's automatic promotion bid continued to falter as they were held to a second successive home draw and slipped to fourth in the Sky Bet Championship.
Hull were held 1-1 by Nottingham Forest, the same score as against MK Dons at the KC Stadium on Saturday.
Forest earned new manager, Paul Williams, a point in his first game in charge since being appointed to replace Dougie Freedman for the remainder of the season.
Forest took a first-half lead through Gary Gardner's rising shot from distance, before Sone Aluko slid home a second half equaliser for Hull - whose winless run in the Championship extended to four games.
Federico Macheda, whose loan from Cardiff had only been completed hours before kick-off, probed the home defence with a run but his shot across goal was well wide after 11 minutes.

Hull's response was a dangerous curling cross to the far post from Andy Robertson, which bounced just in front of Abel Hernandez and Ahmed Elmohamady.
Hull went close with 15 minutes gone when a ball from Robert Snodgrass, back in the side following a groin injury, set up Hernandez but his shot from the edge of the area came back off the post.
Mo Diame was first to the rebound but his shot was blocked by Forest goalkeeper Dorus De Vries.
Hull keeper Allan McGregor had to get down well to save a Macheda shot as Forest continued to trouble the home defence.
But he had no chance when Forest took the lead after 27 minutes.
The ball was played square to midfielder Gardner and he hit a rising right foot shot from 30 yards which beat the despairing dive of the Hull keeper and flew into the top right corner.
De Vries denied Elmohamady with a fine tackle as he tried to reach Diame's pass in the area and when Robertson crossed Hernandez headed wide as Hull's bid for a first-half equaliser ended in vain.
De Vries kept his side ahead early in the second half when he beat away a cross from Tom Huddlestone which had been deflected towards his near post.
Diame headed wide 10 minutes into the half from a Snodgrass high ball as Hull once again failed to make the most of a good chance.
They had another escape just past the hour as Bojan Jokic won the ball in his own half and fed substitute Oliver Burke but he screwed his shot wide across the face of goal.
Hull were finally level after 72 minutes when Huddlestone's shot was blocked but the ball found its way through to unmarked substitute Aluko and he slid it past De Vries.
But even with an extra forward in Chuba Akpom joining the fray with 11 minutes to go, they could not fashion a winner as their promotion bid continued to falter.
