Guingamp 2-1 Toulouse: Toulouse escape despite defeat
Saturday 16 May 2015 22:51, UK
Toulouse will play in Ligue 1 next season despite losing 2-1 at mid-table, 10-man Guingamp.
The home side took a fourth-minute lead through Christophe Mandanne and although Wissam Ben Yedder levelled from the spot Claudio Beauvue put the home side ahead once again in the 49th minute.
Christophe Kerbrat was sent off on the hour mark but Toulouse could not take advantage.
Luckily Dominique Arribage's side could rely on Evian losing to St Etienne to seal their fate.
Toulouse have an excellent record against sides in Brittany this season, having already beaten Lorient once, Rennes twice and taken four points against Nantes, however they went into the game with just one win on the road since early December.

After 22 minutes Jonas Lossl made a superb stop to keep Guingamp's one-goal advantage intact when Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro got on the end of Daniel Braithwaite's pass, only to be denied by the hosts' stopper.
Five minutes later La Tefece were awarded a penalty when Kerbrat handled and Ben Yedder made no mistake from 12 yards for his 13th goal this season.
Lossl made yet another superb stop in the Guingamp goal after half an hour as Toulouse continued to pressure, this time making a fine reflex save to keep out Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik's header.
Guingamp restored their advantage just a few minutes after the restart when Jeremy Pied's delivery found Beauvue who beat Ahamada with a confident header.
Toulouse responded but Braithwaite pulled a shot wide after being played in before Guingamp were reduced to 10 men when Kerbrat was given a straight red for a professional foul.
Toulouse were agonisingly close to levelling with 15 minutes left but Lossl made another smart save, pushing away Ben Yedder's stinging shot, before Braithwaite was unable to capitalise on the rebound.
Toulouse almost stole a point in added time but Adrien Regattin's header hit the bar following some good work from Marcel Tisserand.
