Cottagers win despite Celtic dominance
Premier League side Fulham saw off Scottish champions Celtic 3-1 in their pre-season friendly, with new signing Bobby Zamora opening his account for the West Londoners.
It took just short of two minutes for the deadlock to be broken as another of Roy Hodgson's summer recruits, Zoltan Gera, floated in a pinpoint cross to the unmarked Erik Nevland who slotted home from three yards.
The hosts extended their lead against the run of play as debutant Zamora, who completed his switch from West Ham earlier this week, fired home a powerful strike from the edge of the area after a lay-off from Nevland.
Celtic finally managed to find a way through The Cottagers' defence courtesy of a set-piece, Barry Robson curling in an effort from the edge of the box to bring his side back into the match.
Fulham, however, found their way through Celtic's defence again, Danny Murphy working the ball back to the edge of Celtic's area before Leon Andreasen struck the ball with venom beyond Mark Brown to extend Fulham's advantage.
Scott Brown then went agonisingly close to a consolation for Gordon Strachan's men, turning and unleashing a powerful effort which flew just over, but it was Fulham who secured the win despite never really looking on top.
