Wes Burns was Fleetwood's hero as his second-half strike earned them a 2-1 victory against in-form Peterborough.
Burns skipped past defender Niall Mason before smashing home from an acute angle in the 76th minute.
Peterborough's six-match winning streak came to an end as Town secured their fourth straight success.
Twenty-five goal Ivan Toney's replacement Mo Eisa fluffed an early penalty chance for Posh.
After Alex Cairns had felled Siriki Dembele in the box, the Town goalkeeper redeemed himself by saving Eisa's spot-kick in the eighth minute.
The hosts then went ahead in the 15th minute when Callum Connolly smashed home from 12 yards after meeting Danny Andrew's through-ball.
Fleetwood defender Harry Souttar headed Burns' corner inches over the top just after the 30-minute mark.
Burns skied an effort after being put through by Barrie McKay, while just after the restart, Andrew thumped the base of a post with a 30-yard pile-driver.
Posh levelled in the 54th minute when full-back Dan Butler charged down the left before driving home from 25 yards.
But Burns had the last word to keep high-flying Fleetwood's play-off hopes very much alive.
