Fleetwood remain unbeaten at Highbury in League One this season following a 3-1 win against Doncaster.

The home side took just 11 minutes to grab the lead through Stephen Dobbie, who swept home David Ball's cross after Gareth Evans had robbed Harry Forrester deep inside Doncaster territory. Fleetwood's bubble was quickly burst when Nathan Tyson, who spent a spell on loan at Highbury last season, found space to shoot and his deflected 20-yard effort wrong-footed Fleetwood goalkeeper Chris Maxwell. Richie Wellens then went close to giving Rovers the lead, but Town's keeper was well positioned to keep out his blasted effort. The home side regained the advantage before the break. Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin set Ball free and his low cross was tapped home by Liam McAlinden. Dobbie should have added to his account after the restart when he was teed-up beatifully by McAilinden, but he failed to beat Doncaster goalkeeper Jed Steer from six yards. At the other end Tyson went closer still, getting the last touch in a penalty area scramble, but Maxwell's outstretched arm denied the striker. Doncaster took a more aggressive tack in a bid to level the match, but it was Steer who kept Fleetwood from running away with it as he made superb saves to deny Ball and Dobbie from close range. But Fleetwood struck a third goal when Dobbie picked out the run of McAlinden and Ball backheeled his low cross into the bottom corner. Doncaster almost struck back immediately as Maxwell was at full stretch to keep out substitute Kyle Bennett's curling free-kick. Nathan Pond could have sealed it for the home side but was unable to power the ball home from Josh Morris's corner.
