Crewe 1-2 Exeter: Grecians complete fine comeback
Tuesday 20 February 2018 23:57, UK
Late goals from Jordan Moore-Taylor and Jayden Stockley saw Exeter come from behind in dramatic fashion to claim a 2-1 win at Crewe.
The strugglers thought they had bagged maximum points through a late strike by Shaun Miller, who turned the ball in from close range in the 88th minute, as a game of few clear chances appeared to be heading for a goalless stalemate.
But there was a frantic finish in store at Gresty Road as Moore-Taylor pounced in the last minute when the Grecians kept the ball alive from a corner.
And then Stockley headed home Lee Holmes' cross at the far post in stoppage time to steal a win which moved Paul Tisdale's side up to seventh in League Two.
Crewe had the better chances in the first half when skipper Paul Green went close, diverting fellow loanee Harry McKirdy's low cross goalwards with Christy Pym making a reaction save.

Efforts from Zoumana Bakayogo and McKirdy did not miss by much, but both sides lacked a cutting edge.
Crewe goalkeeper Ben Garratt had to repel Stockley's angled drive and Exeter came out with greater resolve after the break with Stockley just failing to apply a firm finish to Kyle Edwards' cross.
The visitors thought their efforts had come to nought when Miller netted the third goal of his loan spell, but Stockley and Moore-Taylor struck at the death.
