Chesterfield 1-4 Sheffield United: Blades cruise to victory
Sunday 13 November 2016 16:48, UK
Sheffield United came from behind to secure what was eventually a convincing 4-1 victory at Chesterfield in Sky Bet League One on Sunday.
Jon Nolan fired Chesterfield into a surprise lead very early on with a superb volley, but the Blades fought back after the break as Kieron Freeman levelled before goals from John Fleck, Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke sealed a comfortable win.
The result sees Sheffield United rise to third in the table, while struggling Chesterfield stay bottom.
Chesterfield hadn't scored in 560 minutes of league football ahead of kick-off at the Proact Stadium, but Nolan brought that run to an end in stunning fashion after less than two minutes.
Fed by Ched Evans, the midfielder took a touch to tee himself up in the box, before slamming a thunderous volley past the helpless Simon Moore to notch up a first goal for the club since signing in the summer.

United reacted well and had a couple of half chances to get back into the game, with Billy Sharp looking threatening on occasion, but it was Chesterfield who came closest to scoring again in the first half, as Ian Evatt rattled the crossbar with a header from Jay O'Shea's corner just before the break.
And that missed chance would prove vital as the Blades found an equaliser after 54 minutes, as Freeman went in with his head to connect with John Fleck's cross but somehow managed to shoulder the ball home instead.
Chris Wilder's side continued to threaten, and they eventually put the game beyond Chesterfield with two goals in as many minutes, with Fleck firing in from 25 yards in the 72nd minute before Sharp headed in at the far post moments later.
Substitute Clarke then added a late fourth with a fine, curling effort from outside the box to condemn Chesterfield to a seventh-straight defeat and nine without a win.
