Uche Ikpeazu's goal secured Cambridge their second League Two win of the season as they beat Colchester 1-0.
The forward received the ball on the right side of the penalty box before cutting inside and firing a fine effort into the far bottom corner to break the deadlock after 64 minutes.
The visitors had been dangerous early on, with David Forde producing a great save to deny Kyel Reid from close range inside three minutes.
They also saw Sean Murray strike a powerful effort from distance which hit defender Greg Taylor and went narrowly wide of Forde's post, before Cambridge grew into the game.
Jevani Brown's low shot was saved by Sam Walker, who also held Medy Elito's close-range flick. In added time, Ade Azeez headed just wide following Brad Halliday's cross.
Just after the hour mark, Walker was called into action again, saving low from Ikpeazu after Brown's lay-off, before the striker buried the opener.
Brown nearly doubled the lead 17 minutes from the end, only for Walker to superbly tip his effort over.
