Ryan Edwards proved to be the late Burton hero as he glanced home a header from Liam Boyce's cross to earn a 1-0 win over Fleetwood at the Pirelli Stadium.
Albion had been knocking on the door against a Town side who showed little in the way of attacking intent and the Australian midfielder's sixth of the season ensured it was Albion who sealed a fourth win in five league games.
The first half was tight with defences on top. Burton, arguably, had the better of the chances with Oliver Sarkic forcing Alex Cairns to save with his leg after an excellent scooped pass into the box from Scott Fraser.
David Templeton's deliveries from wide positions caused plenty of problems for the Fleetwood defence but Burton failed to get anyone on the end of them.
Fleetwood twice missed the target as both Lewie Coyle and Wes Burns put presentable chances wide in rare forays forward.
The second half saw much of the same with Sarkic narrowly drilling wide of the post as Cairns continued to be the busier of the two keepers but he was powerless a minute from time to prevent Albion snatching all the points.
