Goals in each half handed manager Mark McGhee six points from his first two games in charge as Bristol Rovers saw off 10-man Bradford 2-1.
Defender Lee Brown took his tally for the season to five with a low shot from 12 yards after bout of head tennis on the edge of the Bantams box after six minutes. Eliot Richards doubled the advantage 10 minutes after the break, racing clear to fire past Jon McLaughlin after substitute Scott McGleish had won possession in the visitors' half. Bradford full-back Rob Kozluk appeared unlucky to be sent off for a second bookable foul after 65 minutes, yet shortly after the visitors pulled a goal back through David Syers' close-range volley. Rovers were the more threatening team in the first half and looked to have a good shout for a penalty rejected when Richards went down under a challenge from Craig Fagan. Equally, Bradford looked to be denied a late spot-kick when Chris Zebroski appeared to bring down sub Kyel Reid.
