Bournemouth have no fresh injury worries or suspension concerns ahead of their EFL Cup game against Preston on Tuesday.

Eddie Howe has a full team to pick from and is expected to make changes to the side that lost 4-0 to Manchester City on Saturday.

Team news

Callum Wilson could be back in the starting line-up after coming off the bench at half-time and Arsenal loanee Jack Wilshere is also expected to start.

Ben Afobe is hoping to be included after being an unused substitute at the weekend.

Preston will be without injured defender Marnick Vermijl, while boss Simon Grayson has promised to ring the changes after Saturday's 5-0 defeat at Brentford.

Belgian right-back Vermijl was forced off with a hamstring injury in the closing stages at the weekend and could be sidelined for several weeks.

Opta stats

Bournemouth and Preston met in Round three of the League Cup last season. The Cherries won 3-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw at Deepdale.

Of the 28 meetings between these two sides, all but two were in the third tier of English football.

Preston have lost 10 of their last 11 away League Cup games against top-flight sides, with their only victory coming at Birmingham in November 2002 (2-0).

Indeed, that win over Birmingham was also the last time Preston reached the fourth round of the League Cup, eventually losing to Aston Villa.

Bournemouth have progressed from nine of their last 10 League Cup ties against lower ranked opponents, losing out only to Oxford on penalties in August 2012.

Charlie predicts

Well it's a good opportunity for Bournemouth to get their confidence back up after being well beaten on Saturday.

I was surprised Howe picked  Wilshere but I guess he saw it as a free hit, but it was strange to leave Wilson and Afobe out. I think both strikers might play here and they'll go out to build some momentum.

Preston lost by an even bigger margin at Brentford so it's probably an ideal game for the Cherries to do that.

Charlie predicts: Bournemouth 3-0 Preston, Afobe to score first (35/1 with Sky Bet)
