Sean McConville's injury-time winner earned Accrington bragging rights over Lancashire rivals Blackpool and a first away league victory since September.
Stanley created a succession of fine chances and finally found the net in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time through McConville's header.
The Seasiders meanwhile sank to a second home defeat in six days and slipped down to tenth in Sky Bet League One.
The first half was scrappy and yielded few standout openings, although Blackpool had the ball in the net after through Sullay Kaikai only for the linesman to adjudge the close-range finish as offside.
And just before the break Stanley should have taken the lead as Offrande Zanzala spurned a golden one-on-one opportunity.
The striker fired straight at Jack Sims, who earlier replaced the injured Jak Alnwick and made an unexpected debut.
The second half was similar to the first and provided end-to-end action, with Ben Heneghan's header cleared off the line as Blackpool pressed.
But Stanley broke home hearts in injury time as a looped cross was guided expertly into the bottom corner by McConville, extending his side's unbeaten league run to five games.
