Toulouse slipped to the bottom of the Ligue 1 standings following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of 10-man Bastia. Claudiu Keseru put the Corsican side ahead two minutes before half-time despite having lost defender Julian Palmieri to a straight red card for a challenge on Oscar Trejo six minutes earlier. Toulouse hit back in the 57th minute through Martin Braithwaite but were unable to further capitalise on their one-man advantage, with Bastia instead going on to score the winner through Romaric 10 minutes later. The result left TFC still in search of their first league win, and rock bottom of the table on goal difference from Sochaux. Bastia had all the chances in the first half, and even when Palmieri was given his marching orders in the 36th minute it was the home side who were able to conjure a 1-0 lead at the break. Keseru forced a good save from Ali Ahamada before Wahbi Khazri tested the Toulouse goalkeeper again, with Khazri again denied just before the half-hour mark. Palmieri was then sent off for an early shower for a nasty kick at Trejo but it did not deter Bastia as Keseru fired in from 25 yards with two minutes of the first half remaining. Toulouse responded when Etienne Didot freed Serge Aurier, who fed the ball through perfectly for Braithwaite to curl home. But Romaric swiftly made sure the points belonged to the home side with a close-range header from Florian Raspentino's flick-on. Bastia had a couple more chances despite their reduced numbers, and Toulouse had to thank Ahamada for preventing any further damage to their goal difference.
