Spanish Primera Division: Sevilla move fourth with win
Sunday 11 January 2015 13:42, UK
Sevilla climbed up to fourth place in the Primera Division standings thanks to a 2-0 away win at Almeria on Sunday.
Vicente Iborra opened the scoring for the visitors in the 58th minute before Coke wrapped up the points with Sevilla's second goal five minutes later.
The result puts Los Rojiblancos two points behind third-placed Atletico Madrid, while Almeria remained just two points clear of the bottom three.
Chances were few and far between in the first half, with Sevilla's Daniel Carrico heading the first effort of the match wide in the 19th minute from close range.
On-loan Arsenal striker Wellington Silva blazed over the bar for Almeria just after the half-hour mark before Jose Antonio Reyes saw his shot from 20 yards blocked by Thomas Teye at the other end.

Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca saw his long range shot saved by Almeria goalkeeper Julian Cuesta before the break.
Silva saw another chance denied early in the second half, this time by Sevilla keeper Beto, but then the advantage swung the visitors' way when Iborra finally broke the deadlock.
The midfielder drove a low strike into the bottom left of the Almeria goal from 20 yards out.
Five minutes later Coke gave Sevilla a two-goal cushion, which the hosts never looked likely to overcome, when he struck home in the 63rd minute from 12 yards out.
Bacca had another chance denied by Cuesta as Sevilla went in search of their third before Edgar Mendez blazed over for Almeria as they aimed to find a way back into the match.
Javier Espinosa came close for the hosts late on but his strike from the edge of the box was caught by Beto, who ensured Sevilla kept a clean sheet.
