Adebayo Akinfenwa grabbed a double in AFC Wimbledon's dominant 3-0 victory over League Two leaders Burton Albion - the first loss of the campaign for the Brewers. Akinfenwa's headed goal and close-range finish sealed the win after Matt Tubbs, who was later sent off for a second bookable offence, had put the Dons in front. The hosts started brightly at Kingsmeadow and after seeing his 18-yard volley rattle the crossbar, Tubbs calmly slotted George Francomb's exquisite 19th minute through ball past Jon McLaughlin for his eighth goal of the season. Akinfenwa then sent a 32nd minute swivelling shot narrowly wide but made amends within five minutes - rising highest at the far post to power an unstoppable header past McLaughlin. The visitors offered little throughout the game and the Dons wrapped up the victory in the 67th minute - Akinfenwa on hand to turn Francomb's low cross home at the back post. The only blemish on an otherwise perfect game for Wimbledon came 10 minutes from time when Tubbs, who had already been booked, saw red for an unnecessary handball in the Burton penalty area.
