        Verdict

        ELITE LAND is a couple of pounds out of the weights but is still taken to overcome Grand Art and Timocracy amongst others. The race panned out quite nicely for Grand Art at Newmarket but he won well to confirm the promise of his penultimate start and has to be respected with leading amateur Simon Walker taking the ride. Timocracy landed a gamble when making his debut for this yard at Pontefract; he was hardpressed to hold on over ten furlongs though and has risen 5lbs in the weights. It's A Date and Smarterthanuthink both enter calculations but we've selected Elite Land. He has run two sound races on the level this season, finishing third behind Monfils Monfils at Doncaster before just missing out on a place at Hamilton and Elite Land may not be far away at the finish.
