Smiddy Hill has shown enough placed form so far to warrant support, with Tagula Bay, Gogetter Girl and Katie Boo also expected to make their presence felt. To be honest, nothing stands out from the rest but Smiddy Hill must be in the shake-up if she repeats the level of form that she has shown in three runs so far. Robin Bastiman's filly has tried to make all on two occasions, the most recent being over today's course and distance a fortnight ago in class D company. The drop in grade is in her favour and similar tactics may this time pay off. Gogetter Girl is the most experienced in the field but gave her best showing on softish ground at Warwick a while back and may be outpaced here, while Katie Boo was a little unlucky in running on her Musselburgh debut and is another to consider. Tagula Bay faded when put over six furlongs at Redcar last time and so a better effort is expected now and she looks the best of Tim Easterby's pair. It is not an event to get too worked up about, but Smiddy Hill gets the vote.
