A wide open heritage handicap for which Express Wish appears as if he has been primed for a bold bid. He is the selection from his middle draw which gives Frankie Dettori plenty of options with regard to where to track the pace. Second on his seasonal debut at Newmarket, his trainer has stated that he is the type that will come into his own as a four year old. His lack of experience against some tough and hardy opponents is the worry. Knot In Wood is one that rates high on the shortlist after a Hamilton victory last time. Third in the Stewards Cup last year, he reserves his best for these contests while Harrison George, stable companion of Knot In Wood has won three of his last four outings and the stable excel with these sorts. Tamagin was poorly drawn at Chester last time and as a consequence was always fighting a loosing battle but his Wokingham fifth leaves him in with a big shout. Phantom Whisper and Pawan are closely matched on previous form but it would be surprising if these exposed sorts landed it while at bigger prices Blue Tomato could go well for sprint king Dandy Nicholls. He found the five furlong trip at Newmarket last time too sharp and the extra furlong will suit. Express Wish is the vote.
