Many course regulars clash in an open handicap, including last year's 1-2, Alejandro and Alfred Hutchinson. The latter has been in better form of the pair this term, running consistently well in a series of competitive handicaps at this venue and is a credit to connections. After showing little earlier in the season, ALEJANDRO has looked more like it the last twice and, dropped to a workable mark, could well have been prepared for a repeat performance. Captain Bob is a threat off the bottom rung for a yard in excellent form and Intense Style is another to note on his first start for Les Eyre since leaving Jim Bolger. Silvestre De Sousa is aboard and the Brazilian rode a winner for the yard at Doncaster on Thursday. Salateen has a chance on juvenile form but progressive four-year-old filly, Above The Rest, looks the main threat after impressing at Haydock last time. She's ideally suited by this trip.
