Jamie Spencer is reunited with PAKTOLOS and John Harris's gelding is preferred to Managua and Porgy in a very competitive claimer. Although not at his best of late, the selection has conditions more in his favour this evening. The jockey booking looks ideal for a hold-up performer and a better run is anticipated. Nevada Desert is a course winner but he has stamina doubts to dispel, Kames Park has been holding his form well bar one Hamilton flop and is respected, whilst High Ambition is a player on the figures and genuinely good ground would suit. Stablemate Trip The Light knows how to win on the Knavesmire and his record in claiming grade is second to none, so along with Managua and Porgy he is considered. The former has Ryan Moore on-board and this unexposed gelding rates high on the list, as does Porgy who was last seen finishing down the field in the John Smith's Cup. A cracking claimer then where narrow preference is for Paktolos.
