Border Subject is well worth a try in this company and although he has winning form over this trip, he may be better over six-furlongs. Bouncing Bowdler is an admirably tough gelding, but he may find one or two of these too good for him on these terms. Needwood Blade is also a tough customer, but he has yet to win beyond six-furlongs, while Suggestive has flattered only to decieve on more than one occasion. Of the three-year-olds Northern Desert is better than he has shown so far, but his stable remain out of form, while the filly Hiddendale would certainly have a chance if she could reproduce her third in the Group 3 Nell Gwyn Stakes earlier on in the season. Lipstick has yet to convince over this trip, so the best of the younger generation should be L'Oiseau D'Argent, who beat subsequent winner Love Regardless at Doncaster, with the third Vicious Warrior 15 lengths back in third. He has plenty of pace and could take some pegging back, but Millennium Dragon gets the vote. Very impressive when landing two minor events back in the spring, he went off favourite for the Group 3 Jersey Stakes, where he finished a respectable 5th. His next port of call was in the July Cup, where he arguably put in his best performance to date in finishing a never nearer 5th, over an inadequate trip, on ground softer than he cares for. He has since been a shade disappointing when getting beat in a Group 3 at Goodwood, where again he was patiently ridden. He seems much happier when up with the pace and if he takes a handy position early, he is sure to take the beating.
