Always a tough handicap to win and although the three-year-olds had a good record in the eighties ( seven wins), they have only won the race once in the last eleven years. Calcutta, fifth in this event last year from a poor draw, has been in good form this term picking up three races along the way. He races off a 7lb higher mark this year, but he does have a decent draw in stall six and should run well. Vicious Knight bounced back to form last time when finishing just in front of Calcutta in a listed event at Salisbury. He too should run well, but he will not find things easy from his double figure draw. Demonstrate is a progressive individual, but he is drawn out in the car park, so the vote goes to Atlantic Ace, who looked so unlucky in the William Hill Mile at Goodwood. He has been raised 3lb for getting beat, but he is basically a winner and may have gone up further still had he got his head in front. He is well drawn in stall two and should again take care of Nashaab and Omaha City. Of the three-year-olds Bestam, Pie High and Pentecost have plenty to do from their draw, but the progressive Freya's Dream may have been freshened up by a break and should run well.
