Verdict

Peter Tchaikovsky has been unable to cut the mustard in Group company since a winning debut and whilst he may do better today, a safer bet looks to be Jobe although the ground may play a big part. None of these horses have encountered going like this in their short careers and who handles it best may win. Jobe impressed last time at Ayr; that was on good to soft but he moved through it nicely and having learnt plenty from his debut where he was uber-green, he was never extended last time and deserves this step up in class. Marine Boy and Weatherstaff both won on their debuts in different fashion; there could be untold improvement to come. Saxford has experience on his side and should not be overlooked, whilst Dabbers Chief needs to find some improvement from somewhere. Deposer represents a stable with a strong crop of juveniles so cannot be ruled out, but in a race where stakes should be kept to a minimum, it is Jobe who gets the vote.
