A competitve conclusion to the day's events and we take Marachi Band to be too good for Cool Customer, Daylami Star, Regal Connection and Swan Queen. The selection is due a 12lb rise very shortly, and while that may be excessive, it can certainly add to our confidence. Eoghan O'Neill's three-year-old is proven over this trip and with cut in the ground. She is a very consistent sort, who enjoys being up with the pace and as few are coming from behind this week she can take advantage. Cool Customer will have his supporters after recent wins at Leicester and Kempton, but his trainer is not exactly bullish about him as an individual and that may be the mimit of his abilities. Certainly a 7lb rise will test him here and he may have his work cut out. Daylami star should get the trip but his ability to handle conditions has to be questioned, while of the Mark Johnston pair Unique Moment looks the more certain stayer, although he is also exposed. Swan Queen came good on fast ground at Folkestone last time but looks nothing special and the ground again poses a problem, and Karlani looks more interesting. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding still has to answer questions over the going, but the trip should be within his compass and he may yet be open to improvement, so he is not dismissed out of hand. But Marachi Band has a fair bit going for her here and can take advantage.
